Past Events

Since there’s always something happening around the Center, that means we don’t always get the computer time that we’d like! We’re slowly working on uploading our photos from 2016 & 2015, so check back soon for new pictures.

In the meantime take a peek below for the highlight reel from 2014. Feel free to browse through our events from 2013, 2012, or in 2011 & 2010. This year is jam packed with new events, so make sure you stay up to date! If you'd like more information about how to get involved, Contact Us!

The Center was invited to celebrate Native American Heritage Month at the Martinsburg VA Hospital. We treated attendees with the Center's Travelling Displays and the Tunsweca Wakan H'oka. Everyone enjoyed learning more about native culture and hearing the Veterans honoring songs.

Geez Fest 2014 (3rd Year Anniversary Celebration) - Charles Town, WV

November Marks the Three Year Anniversary of opening  the Center doors and this year we celebrated with a Geez Fest. Oldtimers and newcomers came together to share and listen to all the stories of how the Center came to be, what happens when you go left instead of straight, and the fun and excitement that has come along the way.

Walter Reed Army Institute of Research Native American Heritage Month - Silver Spring, MD

The Center was honored to be invited to celebrate Native American Heritage Month with the WRAIR. We brought the Travelling Displays, and the Tunsweca Wakan H'oka. We were happy to be joined by our friend, Pete Giove and his wife, who sang and danced along with the drum.

Holy Man Documentary Screening - Charles Town, WV

To start out November the Center shared Holy Man: USA vs. Douglas White, a brand new documentary that tells one man's story of the discrimination Native Americans still face today and how the Popular Culture can destroy people, families, and even whole societies. Everyone enjoyed the fresh hot frybread and wojapi and hearing Douglas' story.
